The forest is calling me home

hike

I love being outside in nature. It calms me to the core. This past weekend I was at the beach for my annual sister’s weekend.  It was cold and rainy for two of the three days. The third day was just cold and windy.  NOT the beach weather we were hoping for.  It was a little disappointing but I was happy just walking on the boardwalk or sitting outside on the deck, bundled up under a blanket while reading or taking a nap. I don’t know what it is about the past few days. Maybe it’s been the cooler temperatures ( 60-80*F ). Maybe it’s the lack of outside exercise since I have not ran in over a month.  Maybe it’s the pull of the moon.  Who knows! All I know is I can hear the forest calling my name.  I can feel the pull of it like electric current pulsing through me. I need to be in the woods hiking for hours. Sadly, I am an adult and have a job to do or I would be there right now.  If I do not have any plans come Saturday, I will suggest to my husband that we drive to one of our favorite hiking spots and get lost in the woods for several hours.   It will not be a hard sell.  He loves it just as much as I do.

Until then, you can find me outside sitting on my front porch after work or outback grilling up dinner. It’s only Tuesday.  This is going to be a long week!

I also have a sudden urge to chop my hair off to my shoulders. I will try to wait a few days on that just in case it’s a whim… LOL

Have a great week my friends!  Do you have anything fun planned for the weekend?
