Hearts, valentines, roses, fancy romantic dinners, love for someone special… this is what comes to mind when I think of February (I know-Also Allyson’s b-day but also off topic). But what about you? Do you tend to focus on others this month or do you put time aside for self-love? Not THAT you perv. Self-love: as in doing something for yourself. Maybe it’s a spa day or time out with a cup of tea and that book you have been meaning to start. Or reaching out to a friend you have not spoken to in forever!! This might just make their day too BTW… OR maybe it’s about making a change that could cause you to have more happiness. Self-love is the hot topic this month over at I’m Fit Possible – on the web site, on facebook.
Through one of our ambassadors, Chivon John, there is a group going on right now called Self-Love Academy. If you are unhappy with yourself, want to make a change but you’re not sure what the root of your problem is or maybe you are already on this path and want to improve yourself and way of thinking, there is time to join in with this amazing group of women. It runs 2/3-13. Did I mention it’s free? I joined not really knowing what to expect but so far it has been a great experience and we are only three days in. Like a lot of people, I have negative, self-doubt voices that need to shut up and go away. They have held me back for so long. I am using the lessons I learn here to hopefully lock them out for good. If I can do that, other goals I have in place should fall together nicely.
While I was searching on line for clip art that would go well this this post, I came across this one:
I thought this was fitting. Will you try this with me? Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are beautiful. If you have negative body image, find one thing about your body you do like and say out loud, “I like my ____”. Are you a self-doubter like me? Tell yourself you are strong and you will reach your goal! Go on. Give yourself a big old hug. Be kind to yourself so you can be kind to others.
