2014- New Year, New You

Happy New Year peeps! I hope you all had a fabulous holiday season filled with love, laughter and good company.

I don’t know about you but my head is spinning with thoughts of the new year. What is in store for me and my family? I can’t predict the future but I can have a hand in directing it the right way (for the most part). I do not focus on resolutions like “I will lose weight”. Because, let’s face it, that never works. Instead, I set goals for the year and smaller monthly goals to achieve them. For example, in 2013, I wanted to drop 1 pants size. By setting smaller monthly goals of workout schedules and learning to eat clean, I dropped 2! I also wanted to blog more and run my first 5k in under 40 minutes (Smashed both). By setting smaller goals, you have a plan in place that you can focus on. Saying, “I want to lose 10 pounds by Valentine’s Day. To do this, I will workout and quit junk food.” is achievable. Saying I want to “lose weight”, is just a generalization.
So, let’s get to it! Here are my goals for 2014:

1. Reach my goal weight. Ideally I would like this to happen by June.
2. Switch this little blog over from Blogger and make it’s own Facebook page.
3. Run another 5k or two. Maybe I’ll do a 10k in the fall… we’ll see.
4. Focus more on meal planning and stick with clean recipes.
5. Plan a hiking/camping vacation

January’s goals:

1. Get back on track with my WO schedule- I am still working on that AMWO thing. Ideally I would like to be at 4x’s a week by the end of the month.

2. Meal plan!! I am currently on the hunt for new clean eating recipes. Feel free to share in the comments below. It must be dairy free.

3. Research blog hosting sites.

I think this is a good start. Don’t you? Do you have any goals for this month?

I want to wish you all a happy, healthy and blessed New Year. Let’s make 2014 our best year yet!

  1. Dan gets so upset if I throw out uncooked meat. If I write out a menu I am more likely to stick with it. I also end up not buying enough food to create a meal if I go without a plan. That's when the food gets wasted! Good luck with your planning!

  2. Thanks for the tip on Bluehost. I will make sure to check it out!
I really am bad when it comes to food prep. I think part of it comes from not liking “left overs” even you it's not leftover if you haven't eaten it yet. It's something I am working on. Thanks for the link :0)

  3. Hi from a new reader. I found your blog through a comment you made on my blog about doctors. Happy I clicked your link 🙂

Make the blog switch! It's a bit of a headache but so worth it in the end! Great goals!

  4. Hi Jill- thanks for stopping by! I am strongly leaning towards wordpress. But I think I might do the free blog first before making the commitment. It's a little scary knowing if I do it wrong, I could lose content. Luckily I have a techy friend willing to help 🙂
