In memory of Marie Camenisch

Marie is Dan’s grandmother who passed away on 9/30.  She had a smile that lit up the room!   I have been thinking about her as Thanksgiving approaches.  It will be strange to not have her sitting at the dinner table.  I have had the Nat King Cole song “Smile” in my head all morning….

Smile tho’ your heart is aching,
Smile even tho’ it’s breaking,

When there are clouds in the sky

You’ll get by,

If you smile

thro’ your fear and sorrow,

Smile and maybe tomorrow,

You’ll see the sun come shin-ing thro’ for you

Light up your face with gladness,

Hide ev-‘ry trace of sadness,

Al -‘tho a tear may be ever so near,

That’s the time,

You must keep on trying,

Smile, what’s the use of crying,

You’ll find that life is still worth-while,

If you just smile,
